Sarau privacy policy

Last updated: 11 October 2026

Who we are. Sarau is a party games app made in a personal capacity by Arnau Vilaró, in Catalonia. For anything at all: [email protected].

In short. Sarau has no user accounts, shows no ads, uses no analytics or tracking tools, and does not sell or share data with anyone.

What is stored on your phone, and never leaves it:

You can delete all of it in Settings → Data → “Delete my data”, or by uninstalling the app.

Party Online. When you play it, the app connects to the Sarau server (party.elsarau.cat) and sends it:

All of this exists only in the server’s memory while the room lasts, and disappears when the room closes or the server restarts. It is not saved in any database. The other players in the room can see your name and what you do in the game.

The server sees the IP address of each connection and uses it only to prevent abuse; for example, to limit attempts to guess room codes. If a connection abuses the server, its IP may be noted in the technical logs, which are deleted every time the server is updated.

Connections go through Cloudflare, which keeps them encrypted and protects the server from attacks. Cloudflare processes this traffic, including the IP address, on our behalf. You can read its privacy policy at cloudflare.com/privacypolicy.

Age. Sarau is intended for people aged 16 or over. Content for over-18s is only shown if the age entered is 18 or over.

Permissions. The app only asks for internet access, for Party Online. It does not access the camera, microphone, contacts or location.

This website does not use cookies or any analytics tools. It is hosted on Cloudflare, which may keep technical access logs, like any website. Email sent to [email protected] is hosted by cdmon.

Your rights. We do not keep any of your data outside your phone, so there is normally nothing on our side to access, correct or delete. For any question or request, write to [email protected]. You can also lodge a complaint with the Catalan Data Protection Authority (Autoritat Catalana de Protecció de Dades, apdcat.cat) or the Spanish Data Protection Agency (Agencia Española de Protección de Datos, aepd.es).

Changes. If this policy changes, we will say so on this same page, with the new date.
